This is a one-day photography workshop to learn how to photograph water. Kelly Mintz will provide the beginner or intermediate photographer what camera settings to use and creative ways to photograph any body of water - waterfalls, rivers, oceans and streams. How to freeze fast moving water or show motion for a soft dreamy effect.
Kelly will begin at the studio, in Newburyport, MA, with a lecture and visuals. Then she will teach creative ways to photograph water, as well as answer questions, like, "Is it better to photograph in sunny or cloudy weather?" What is a long exposure and how to achieve that dreamy water effect? What filters are best to use with water, if any? For the second part of the workshop, Kelly will accompany the class on a field trip to the beautiful Powwow River in downtown Amesbury, MA ( just a 10 min. drive). There is a roaring waterfall and old mills. It's a great opportunity to photograph along with the instructor, and to be inspired by the beautiful surroundings. Finally, during the field trip Kelly will provide each student with constructive feedback about the photographs they are taking. To sign up for this workshop: $150 Supplies Needed for Workshop
