Private Photography Classes
Kelly Mintz offers one on one private photography lessons that can begin most days and times. Either at her studio in Newburyport or if you prefer, Skype/Zoom.
One on one private classes are designed to fit your specific photographic needs and schedule. Private lessons are for ANY level photographer, beginner to advanced, ages 9 years old to adult using any digital, film or cell phone. You can take lessons by the hour or for several weeks or months. Each class you will feel more comfortable with your camera's settings and taking better photos of subjects that you love to photograph.
Kelly offers the opportunity for ALL students will go outside on field trips to practice concepts from class. This is truly the best way for students to learn the complexities of a camera and be inspired by the local surroundings. Homework is given each class for you to practice these concepts. Kelly also will look at your homework each class to give you constructive feedback about your photos. Kelly has over 20 years teaching photography. She strives to explain concepts in an easy to understand manner, and will show you how to take better photos during field trips. During these moments, along with her Masters in Education, Kelly can help anyone learn to take better photographs.
Classes may be scheduled most days, during the day or evening and even be scheduled differently from week to week. To sign up for a class, contact Kelly
ONE ON ONE PRIVATE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS OPTIONS:
• One on one private lessons by the hour at the studio in Newburyport or Skype/Zoom $75 hour. Learn 1-2 photo subjects. (A discounted rate for 2 or more people is, $50 per person per hour)
• 4 Private one on one 2 hr. long lessons at Newburyport studio or Skype/Zoom $425. (This is the most common class)
(A discounted rate for 2 people is, $300 per person) You will learn a basic understanding of your camera.
• 8 Private one on one 2 hour long lessons at Newburyport studio or Skype/Zoom $625.
(A discounted rate for 2 people is, $500 per person) You will learn the basics of camera, plus learn composition tips to take better photos of any subject.
Kelly individually designs each class to accommodate the beginner, intermediate or advanced level photographer. Some photography subjects you may like to consider learning are:
•Which camera to buy and why?
•Learn about your specific camera and the modes and settings to help you take better photos.
•How and when to use your flash.
•How to properly photograph subjects in low light, using a tripod and what to do when you don't have one?
•Confusing camera Menu settings such as, white balance, ISO, file size, file types, formatting etc. and why you need to change some and others just leave them alone.
•How to compose to bring out the subject, whether its, people, landscapes/nature, night photography, macro/flower or anything in between.
• How to photograph people /kids (candidly or formally) for getting the best light, pose, etc...
• What settings and things to think about when preparing for a vacation. (For example, if you're going to Antartica, learn why you should bring a plastic bag for your camera)
•How to design a portfolio for college or preparing for a gallery exhibition, etc.
