This 1-day portrait photography workshop is for the student who wants to learn to take STUNNING photographs of people using natural and sometimes difficult, sunlight.
This workshop will be held at the inspiring, Coppal Farm in Lee, NH (https://www.nhsunflower.com/) during their sunflower festival. Five stunning acres of sunflowers and flower fields, will NOT be open to the public, but only a few other photographers and my students. No crowds, just us and sunflowers galore! The workshop will begin at the SEE Shore Photography studio. Kelly Mintz will start by teaching you which what camera settings are best to use when photographing a person, as well as emphasis on posing people and candid style photography (my personal favorite). Also, what is the best way to properly light a person when photographing outdoors. Whether you photograph your kids, family or friends, you will learn to find the best light and create portraits that express your subject's personality. For the second part of the workshop, Kelly will accompany students to the, Coppal House Farm (about a 40 minute drive from Newburyport, MA) to practice photographing people. There are 5 acres of sunflower and flower fields. The flowers will be in full bloom and inspiring for any level photographer. Students will practice photographing a person or model that Kelly will provide or let her know you have a SUPER person to photograph). Kelly will also demonstrate how to best pose a person in this landscape. Finally, Kelly will provide each student with constructive guidance and feedback about the photos they took. Always keeping things positive and fun. Kelly is a professional photographer with a Masters in Education and over 20 years experience photographing professionally people, families, weddings, events and everything in between (Mintz Photo Studio). This workshop provides benefits to both the beginner and intermediate photographer and is limited to 8 students. Sunday, August 4 Time: 2 - 7:30 (a dinner break will be given) $150 |
Supplies Needed
• A digital camera. Bring a wide angle, macro and/or any lens in the 18-85 ish mm range. (If you like, I have a Canon Rebel with a 18-55mm for a student to borrow.) It is not required for you rent or buy additional lenses.
• Please make sure your camera’s batteries are fully charged and/or bring extra batteries • Please make space on your memory card. •A notebook for taking notes during class. • Snacks/water, suntan lotion, bug spray, and comfortable shoes are a must. |

5-7:30 - practice photographing a person/ models
