Intro to Photography Classes for Kids

Kelly Mintz offers photography classes for 9 years old and up.
Kelly teaches students about their individual camera or smart phone.
During each class, Kelly will give fun and creative assignments to further enhance photo taking skills.
Whether you photograph nature, people, animals, sports or just a little bit of everything, Kelly will be help you make your photos more interesting, unique and visually stunning.
Kelly holds a Masters in Education and believes learning by doing is the best way to learn! Students walk across the street to the waterfront to photograph a seal in the water or a beautiful landscape. Another block down is a flea market for an eclectic mix of unique subjects or three blocks down is the downtown of Newburyport, where students can photograph a more urban setting.
For Supplies needed or If you need a camera recommendation, please visit my Supplies Needed page. (If you need to borrow a DSLR Canon camera while in class, there is one available for you to use, just ask.)

Photo II - Advanced Digital Photography for grades 4-8
No classes offered right now, consider a private lesson
Photo II is a great class for students, ages 9-14 to further learn the art of photography. After students have learned the foundations of photography in my beginner photo class, they can continue to further learn fun and useful photography topics. Students will learn how to photograph people, both formal and candid style, landscapes/nature, night (time lapse photography) and abstract photography.
These are just some of the topics that may be included, but each class is individually designed to meet student's needs & interests.
The most fun part of this photography class is that students will have the opportunity to go out on field trips with the instructor, Kelly Mintz to practice photographing. Field trips are the best way for students to learn by doing. These field trips are scheduled everyday to interesting scenic places around Newburyport that the students can walk to and/or parents drop off and pick up at a local spot.
Class size is small and limited to 7 students, which allows for individual attention. Kelly is a professional photographer and holds a Masters in Education and over fifteen years experience teaching photography to children and adults.
