 As the sun sets, the light changes   and the glow of carousels, arcades and night lights start to twinkle. Grab your camera and learn to photograph at night in downtown Salisbury!

Owner, Kelly Mintz will teach you which camera settings are best to use when photographing at night. Then, she will accompany the class to downtown Salisbury to practice photographing. (ALL of these photos are of Salisbury at night) Students will photograph (and ride too) the Salisbury Beach Carousel, arcade and all of the lights that glow at the fun and funky place. This is an inspiring place to photograph for any level photographer. 

This workshop starts by meeting at the SEE Shore Photography studio in Newburyport, MA.  Kelly makes sure that she goes over each student's individual camera settings.  Then the second part of class, students will have ample opportunity to practice photographing the concepts from class lecture. 

Kelly will demonstrate how to create stunning night photographs. Some special subjects she covers are, bokeh, slow shutter speeds, ICM (intentional camera movement) and capturing very sharp cityscapes. It's also a great way to practice for the holiday season.

• Photographing alongside Kelly, is a great opportunity to learn by doing, ask questions and get inspired by the surrounding area.  

• Kelly will provide each student with constructive feedback about their photos.  She strives to keep the classes fun and positive.

• This workshop provides benefits to both the beginner and intermediate photographer.

• Kelly Mintz has her Masters in Education, is a professional photographer and over 20 years experience teaching photography.  

SCHEDULE:
2 - 4  Lecture at SEE Shore Photography, in Newburyport 
4 - 4:15 Drive to downtown Salisbury
​4:17 The sun sets and the blue hour happens!
4:17 - 6  Photograph downtown and go on carousel for free!
6 - Leave with AMAZING photos! ​

SUPPLIES NEEDED

• A digital camera.  Bring a normal to wide angle, or any lens in the 18-85 ish mm range.  (If you like, I have a Canon Rebel AND Nikon for you to borrow.) It is not required you rent or buy additional lenses.

• Tripod is optional, but ideal.  I have 2 to borrow, please let me know if you need one?

• Please make sure your camera’s batteries are fully charged and/or bring extra batteries.

• Please make space on your memory card.

• A notebook for taking notes during class.

• Snacks, water, wear warm clothes, possibly fingerless gloves too.
