This 1-day photography class offers any level photographer the opportunity to learn how to photograph landscapes, people, or any still subject. You will learn to use Aperture Priority mode (known as A or AV). Using this mode is one of the key ingredients to creating stunning photographs. In the examples I've photographed above, I chose to either to capture a soft or sharp background using my aperture. These are choices I made to control the camera's outcome and it makes for a more creative and sometimes simpler effect. Whether you need a refresher class or learn more about your camera, this class is a great beginning.
No automatic mode on any camera gives you the option to change your aperture, it happens by circumstance and a little luck. Photography manuals and books can be confusing. Cell phone photography doesn't always produce the best quality photo. However, I strive to teach photography in a fun, clear and simple to understand manner. I will teach you how to gain control of your camera's settings by hands-on instruction with your individual camera. The more you're able to come out of the automatic modes, the more you're able to control the outcome - resulting in better photographs.
Getting my Master's in Education taught me how to have a interactive teaching style. I provide one-on-one attention to you and your camera. In addition to individualized assistance, I use photo book examples by world renowned photographers, and informative handouts. Most importantly, students will practice photographing alongside me on field trips to local inspiring places. This is something that most other photography classes don't offer, but I feel learning by doing is the best way to learn photography.
Class size is limited to 7 students so individual attention can be given.
