Photo I is a beginner 4 week long photography class to get you started learning all about your camera and taking better photographs. This class is for adults with NO prior experience using either their DIGITAL or FILM camera in any other settings other than maybe the automatic mode.
Kelly Mintz teaches you about your camera’s various modes. The more you're able to use the non-automatic modes, the more you're able to control the outcome - resulting in better photographs.
You will learn about your camera and also about indoor and outdoor lighting and what to do in these very different lighting conditions. Tips will be taught on taking better photographs of people and landscapes and some tips on composition that are extremely useful for any beginner photographer.
Kelly guides you in a simple to understand manner, using hands-on techniques and showing lots of inspiring photo examples by world renowned photographers, as well as handouts.
Finally, field trips and homework assignments are her most unique and important aspect of this photo class.
Field trips are a great opportunity for you to learn alongside Kelly, the instructor. This is something most other photography classes don't offer, but learning by doing is the best way to learn photography.
After each field trip and homework assignment, students present their images to the class for constructive and positive feedback about their images.
